Entering Discovery
Tea Ceremony

The first cup kisses away my thirst,
and my loneliness is quelled by the second.
The third gives insight worthy of ancient scrolls,
and the fourth exiles my troubles.
My body becomes lighter with the fifth,
and the sixth sends word from immortals.
But the seventh —oh the seventh cup— if I drink you,
a wind will hurry my wings toward the sacred island.

LuTong (795-835A.D.)

Join me at the Sacred Garden in upcountry Maui for an afternoon tea ceremony. I will be brewing predominantly high mountain oolongs, with the occasional pu-erh thrown in to mix it up. The teas I source are of the highest quality, filled with mana and dreaming. The ceremony itself is non-traditional, though Gong-Fu Cha in approach,  casual and lighthearted. I have been practicing this style of ceremony, publically and privately, for over 20 years.

You can drop in to join me at any time if there is an open chair. It is about being attentive to the brewing, partaking of the tea, connecting with the others at the table and the great mystery within and without.

Mondays from 2-4:30 PM at the Sacred Garden. See the events page for a full schedule.

Tea Ceremony on Podcast

My buddy Jake Sasseville had me prepare tea for an unprecedented podcast directly from the tea table.

Buying Tea

If you are looking for where to purchase teas you have had with me, I do not currently sell them myself. For high mountain oolong I recommend Tea from Taiwan. For Pu-erh I recommend Bana Tea.
